Q-Ride is a competency-based training and assessment program which has been designed and is overseen by the QLD Department of Transport and Main Roads.
The Q-Ride pre-learner course is the mandatory training and assessment program that must be completed in order to be eligible to apply for a QLD motorcycle learner licence (RE-L).
It is designed to provide beginner riders with the basic skills and knowledge required to ride a motorcycle safely, and is compiled of both theoretical and practical training components to ensure a comprehensive understanding of motorcycle riding basics.
Participants must be trained and assessed as 'competent' in each module sequentially in order to progress in the course and obtain the Competency Declaration needed to be eligible to enrol in the Motorcycle Knowledge Test (TMR).
Our instructors are Q-Ride Accredited Rider Trainers (ART) who are qualified and authorised to deliver Q-Ride courses for the purpose of training and assessing a participant's competency within the Q-Ride curriculum.
In order to be eligible to enrol in this course you MUST HAVE the following;
Open class QLD driver licence OR Provisional licence (and have held it for at least 1 year). Your licence must not be expired or disqualified.
IF your licence is not issued in QLD, documentation from TMR declaring your eligibility for the course must be provided.
At the time of booking you will be required to complete our Enrolment form AND provide us with documentation proving you are eligible to participate in this course.
Copy of your QLD licence
A current Q-Ride Course Eligibility Certificate / Declaration
Other documentation is required if you do not hold a QLD licence.
All persons enrolled in Q-Ride must be wearing the following minimum dress standards in order to participate in the course;
Long pants and long sleeve shirt - No exposed skin
Sturdy closed-in shoes - No steel caps

It is designed to provide learner riders with more advanced skills and knowledge required to ride a motorcycle safely unsupervised, and is compiled of both theoretical and practical training components to ensure a comprehensive understanding of motorcycle riding basics.
Participants must be trained and assessed as 'competent' in each module sequentially in order to progress in the course and obtain the Competency Declaration needed to be eligible to enrol in the Motorcycle Knowledge Test (TMR).
